Hydrophobia.--Died, yesterday, aged nineteen years, Miss Eliza Frame, of the District of Southwark. This young woman was bitten by a mad dog, belonging to a neighbor, in Second street, below Catharine street, about 4 weeks ago. The bite was in one of her fingers, and so slight was it, that the unfortunate girl, considering it of no consequence, neglected to resort to any preventive remedy. She lived but a short time after the symptoms of Hydrophobia appeared. During her intervals of reason, she stated her sufferings as inconceivably dreadful.
A boy, of the same family, and a daughter of the owner of the mad dog, were bitten at the same time, but as yet the disease has not made its appearance.
We hope that the physicians, who attended the above-mentioned young woman, will give her case to the public.
The death by hydrophobia, mentioned in this day's paper, operated like an electrical shock upon those who had kept up their dogs in the District of Southwark, and a great many were consequently destroyed yesterday morning.-Amer.
