IS NOT A COLLEGE.
But Will be When First degree is Granted—Prof. Trotter of W. V. C. S. States the Situation.
Prof. Frank Trotter, of the West Virginia Conference Seminary at Buckhannon, is here the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. C. Steele. His son, Steele, is with him
In regard to a story that has been going the rounds to the effect that the Seminary is a college, Prof. Trotter said: "Of course, the Seminary is not a college yet. You can not make a college by simply calling it that. We prepare students for the junior classes in college now. In a few years, we will prepare them for the senior class. When the first student completes his senior work, and receives a degree, then the Conference Seminary will be a college and not until then."
The controlling body has allowed the seminary to do college work. We need more instructors and more equipment before degrees are granted. It only remains with the students, faculty and friends of the school to determine how soon the Seminary becomes a college.
