A Negro Wounded In the Country.

Monday evening Mr. J. G. Williams, clerk at Mr. Peter Mitchell's woodyard, three miles out on the Horn Lake road, had an altercation about a load of wood, with a negro named Isaac Coleman. Coleman had a gun, and we understand made some threatening remark. Williams got possession of another gun charged with bird shot, and fired at Coleman. The charge struck the negro in several places. The wounds are not regarded as dangerous. Williams was first arraigned before Rankin, the negro magistrate, but afterwards was taken before Squire Black who required him to give $500 bonds for his appearance to-day.
