NEWS BEAT: Morris Brown is deeply worried over its slumping backfield. Star wingback Charles Bivins did not play in the Bethune-Cookman game. Hal Hurley limping. (Charles Bolden is showing fatigue from the campaign and Leonard Anderson is too fragile for strenuous duty.)
MBC's line play has been the bright spot in team play but the backfield which was highly touted when the race got underway is now razor thin. Once again the Purple Wolverines are in deep trouble because of backfield failure. There isn't likely to be any help for the situation. Morris Brown's reserves are skimpy and the ball-carriers aren't likely to rally in view of the rough schedule.
