Extract of a letter from Genoa, July 25.

We learn by a letter from Rome, that a Plot has been discovered in that city, the object of which was to throw open the doors of the prisons, to release all the prisoners, to repair to the house of the Governor of Rome, and to the houses of some other members of the Government, to put them all to death, and to set fire to the habitations of several of the Cardinals.

The chiefs of this conspiracy have been arrested, and will soon be brought to trial: but the government is still under strong apprehensions from the riotous proceedings of the Malcontents, who assemble at the very gates of the Vatican, and insist upon an immediate reduction in the price of every necessary article of consumption.
