A man who went to work for L. F. Moore last week for a few days vamoosed a few days since and went to Lancaster in pursuit of pastures green, and hired out to one Geo. Cummings, a farmer who lives in the East part of that town, to work on his farm. He worked one day, and then seeing a set of jewelry laying around loose, took it and left. The officers arrested him last Monday, and he had a hearing on Tuesday. In consideration of his not being able to pay his fine was committed to jail for fifteen days.
