Extract of a Letter from Captain Brady dated West Liberty April 8.

"Since I wrote you one Indian has been killed and scalped about seventeen miles from Wheeling—there are more Indian tracks discovered this Spring than has been any Spring for these ten years past.

Last Friday evening the Indians took from the mouth of the Indian Short Creek, ten horses—it is supposed by the party that followed them, they were thirty in number.

The spies are all on their ranges, and I am sure are very attentive."
