By grace of Governor Cooper, Roscoe Conkling McCulloch, of Canton, becomes a Senator of the United States to succeed the late Theodore E. Burton.
McCulloch has a mighty tradition to maintain. He has been active and aggressive in the affairs of his party in the State for a number of years. Three times he has represented his district in the Congress. He is at present a member of the State Utilities Commission. He was a prominent candidate for Governor in 1920. He is a lawyer of parts.
Geographically the appointment is commended by good political judgment. The new Senator had the backing of the Cincinnati Republican organization. He is in full sympathy with the President and his policies. He enters upon a great stage at a time of life that should enable him to accomplish much of worth to his State and party.
