Sometimes we wonder why we weren't blessed with a name like Smith or Jones instead of the name we've borne for lo, these many years.
But we must confess that that local evening paper came up with a new version last week, one which even we didn't recognize.
The name is Towle pronounced Tole, as in pole not Towel as in the common variety of hand-towel. We have been called Tole, Towel, Toole, and even O'Toole and we have always insisted that it doesn't matter just so long as we are called in time for meals but for Charles Towle

decide whether to challenge the perpetrator of this foul deed to cream puffs at sunrise or not.
Don't misunderstand this wild head accompanying this article. We have just got to talk about Preacher Rollo and his new spot out the Trail.
GOOD FOOD- Formerly WILD MUSIC Jonesy's, the spot has long had a reputation for good food. But we must comment on the fact that Preacher Rollo has, we believe, outclassed the former owners, if possible. We had dinner out there last Saturday night and we liked his Race Track Special-a nice eight- ounce steak, potato, oven-baked -one vegetable, a nice salad, and with it all, good Dixie-land music. Perhaps we shouldn't have called it wild music, it's anything but that - it is true Dixieland, and I must admit, I'm a sucker for Dixieland probably the only member of my family who is.
And the Harry Collins Trio in the lounge is in the best tradition music you enjoy and vocalizing in Harry's own inimitable style. We strongly recommend a visit to Preacher Rollo for a pleasant evening with good food and cocktails, if you want them, at a modest price.
John Gritzke, the singing carpenter, who made such a hit at the March of Dimes Jamboree last month, has just informed us that he will sing in Bayfront Park on Monday, April 5th, with Caesar LaMonaca. Gritzke is a member of Local 993, and has a good voice of pleasing quality.
