Full Text

For Clerk of the Assembly.

Joseph W. Scoby, Esq., of this county, will be a candidate for Clerk of the Assembly, and we hope he will secure the nomination and election. It is unnecessary to say much in his behalf, as the very general satisfaction he gave as Assistant Clerk at the three different sessions, places him in the position of a favorite candidate. He is eminently qualified for the office.--Placer Herald.

The Herald has finally, by the Providence of God, been placed upon a right scent. Mr. Scoby will be supported by the Butte delegation.
