JACKSON IN MARYLAND.
From the Baltimore Patriot.
On the 7th of June, 1824, a large and respectable number of the citizens of the 6th election district of Baltimore county, assembled in the town of Manchester, and agreed to express their sentiments in favor of the candidate whom they consider most entitled to the next Presidency of the United States: - Whereupon Henry Trapnall was called to the chair, and J. Shower appointed secretary. The following resolutions were unanimously adopted:
1st. Resolved, that we consider General ANDREW JACKSON, in consequence of the highly meritorious services, rendered his country as a statesman and a warrior, both in the revolutionary and late war, his talents, virtue, and long and faithful devotion to his country, is entitled to the highest claims on the office of President of the United States.
2dly. Resolved, that this meeting highly approve of the annunciation of Capt. Wm. Brown as an electoral candidate favorable to GENERAL Jackson, for the district composed of Baltimore county, and pledge themselves to use all honorable means to promote his election.
3dly. Resolved, that the proceedings of this meeting be published in the several newspapers in the city of Baltimore, and signed by the chairman and secretary.
