Full Text

When the Helena Herald has any established principles, and a tangible Editor, we then, perhaps, notice it—but not till then.

WILLIAM S. FULTON.

We have read a publication in the last Gazette, over the signature of this gentleman, in reply to the report of the committee of the House of Representatives, and message of the Governor, published in last Advocate. It is just such a production as might have been looked for.—Instead of a bold, manly and fearless defence, it is, like its author, cold, feeble and sterile. The Judge seems to have taken fright at the rounding of every period. In his communication to the President and weaker, he proposed no good end to result from the action of the Legislature. The whole upshot of the matter is, he wanted the Legislature to say that he was a wise man and the Governor a fool.
