RUMORS OF STRIKE SETTLEMENT

London, July 16 -(AP).- Rumors of an impending new development toward settlement of the British coal strike are given prominence in some of the morning papers, with hints that success may be expected.

The move is described as a secret one by peace makers not connected with the coal industry. The few details given in the different papers do not wholly agree, however.

According to latest reports, nothing substantial resulted from yesterday's conference between the miners and the Trades union congress.
