Gobbling.-The coon prints are publishing
a correspondence between a Dr. J. G. Goble
of Newark, N. J. and the Rev. Dr. Bascomb,
President of a University at Lexington, Ky.
in which the latter vouches for the good moral
character of Henry Clay ! "Wonder if the Rev
Doctor did not endorse the bonds which Mr C.
is now under to keep the peace at Washington
city ?-and whether he includes in his defence
of Clay's " moral character" the language
which he made use of towards Col. Polk upon
the floor of Congress, viz :-" Go home G-d
n-d-n you where you belong."
