Driver On Wrong Side, Sends Boy, 8, To Hospital

An 8-year-old boy yesterday was admitted to Grady Hospital, where attaches reported that he suffered a fractured skull after being struck by an automobile while crossing Bell Street at Hunter Street.

He is Johnny Lee Reeves, of R. 288 Decatur Street.

Police who investigated the accident said they arrested Eugene Fritz, white, of 546 Waldo Street S.E., charging him with driving on the wrong side of the street in connection with the accident.

The 19-year-old white youth driving a 1948 Dodge truck, reportedly struck the small boy with the truck while driving on the wrong side of the street.
