ST. JAMES AME CHURCH

The second quarterly conference held by Presiding Elder A. A. Williams was successful both spiritually and financially. Boards and clubs made excellent reports and expressed greater determination to go forward in the vineyard with faith.

Official board meeting and regular class meeting this week gave the pastor renewed courage to continue the work which he has planned for St. James. Repairs and renovation his ultimate goal seems to be nearer each day.

The public is invited to attend the "Friendly Church" on Sunday to observe the Holy Eucharist and hear the pastor's message which will be centered around the theme "Victorious Living." You cannot afford to miss this service.

On July 9, Sunday School, Allen League and Missionary Workers will journey to Pompano to participate in the annual convention of the North Miami District of South Florida AME Conference. Rev. R. H. Mobley, Bethel AME Church is host pastor. Samuel Terrill and Fannie Mae Scott, Barbara J. Wooten and Wilmarie Fisher will represent St. James in a discussion entitled "Boy and Girl Problems of Today." Other speakers from St. James will discuss "The Life of a Community Without a Sunday School." The pastor, Rev. A. J. Reddick is scheduled to deliver the message at the closing service on Friday, July 10 at 7:30 p.m. St. James Choir will render music for the occasion.
