ALYCE SLY BLASTS 636 IN BOWLING TOURNAMENT
Alyce Sly, daughter of Frank Martin of Nome, was the winner of the Heart Pin Handicap Singles Bowling Tournament scoring in competition with bowlers from Tooele, Salt Lake City, Dugway and Bingham, Utah.
Entered in the tournament were 396 bowlers. The champion of the Women's Division was Alyce Sly with a 636 series. Some of the highest scores ever posted were rolled in this tournament according to the Tooele Transcript.
Also from Nome bowling in the tournament were Kenneth Sly and Mrs. L. Magee, who is also a daughter of Mr. Martin.
Frank Martin who probably has lived in Nome longer than any other present resident will soon join the ranks of the Alaskan octogenarians.
