ONE PROBLEM IS SOLVED BY CAPT. WILKINS
Finds, in Flight, Graham Island Is Separated from Continent

NEW YORK, Dec. 21.—The New York American, in a copyrighted dispatch from Capt. George H. Wilkins at Deception Island in the Antarctic, says he has solved the problem which has baffled geographers for many years, proving that Graham Island is separate from the Polar Continent by an ice-filled channel. Geographers had thought the island's mountains extended without interruption into the heart of the continent. Capt. Wilkins made a flight in the monoplane San Francisco, piloted by Ben Eielson, Alaskan aviator, over the volcanic mountains of Graham Island.
