Event Details
An alarming fire broke out in the lumber yard of Messrs. Keyser & Gorgas at about eleven o'clock on Wednesday night. It commenced in a pile of shingles near the counting house, and was doubtless the work of an incendiary. It is said to have been discovered by a watchman. Notwithstanding the unremitting exertions of the engine and hose companies, the fire was not extinguished for many hours.
