The Court of Common Pleas for this County commenced its May Term on Tuesday last.—It is pretty evident the community are improving in the cultivation of friendly dispositions, the business of our Courts diminishing almost every term, notwithstanding the increase of wealth and trade among us. The number of civil cases continued from the last term is 132. Cases entered the present term 115, 19 appeals, and 9 Bank processes. There is no criminal business before the Court; the Grand Jury made no presentments, and on 8 indictments continued from the last term no arrest has yet been made. The Jury have returned two verdicts, and the Court will adjourn this week.
