Martha Watahomigie and her little son Vin Lucky, the Post Office dog, was kicked by a horse recently. The horse went to Peach Springs Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Collins. Virginia ran and picked him up and she thought he was dead. He will probably be unable to see out of his left eye.

She will stay there until school is out in May and then come back with her brother, mother, and sisters.

Ray Uqualla took Daisy, the calf, up the Hualapai Trail Sunday. Daisy came back down though.

Mack, Ned, and Floyd Putesoy cut a lot of posts up above the 1st Crossing Sunday. They are putting up new fences.

Lee Marshall and his men—Raymond Putesoy and Algin Watahomigie have been working on their ditch cleaning job.

Stanley Manakaja and his crew—Andrew Manakaja and Willie Spoonhead—are nearly through with their ditch cleaning.

Lemuel Paya and Fred Hamidereek are cleaning ditch over on the west side. Louis Sinyella is not home yet and so he has not started on his job. (Mistake—Lem and Fred are working on the upper East side.)

Mr. and Mrs. Collins went to Peach Springs Sunday afternoon on a business trip. They came home Tuesday afternoon. The horses were met at Hilltop to meet them so they started walking home. They found a nice little camp spot and they cooked some meat on a stick over a juniper fire; also they toasted some bread and had a good lunch. Because of the recent rains they found a lot of holes in the rocks full of water and they had plenty to drink. Duke L. met them later on and they rode the rest of the way home. They enjoyed their little "trail picnic". Mr. Collins carried two saddle bags and a suitcase and Mrs. C. carried a small box of groceries and some fresh flowers. Mrs. Bobo gave her some daffodils and Mrs. Womack gave her some pansies. They came down the trail in good shape and it is hoped they will last until Sunday so they can be put in the Chapel.

Mr. and Mrs. Chambers and their baby, David Dwight, are expected home sometime this afternoon. They have been gone for several months. Curley Jones will be their guide today. He took up 5 pack horses and one saddle horse.

Mr. and Mrs. Collins visited Martin Clinton in the Kingman Hospital Monday afternoon. He is getting along fine; he is fat and is getting lots to eat. He walks around every day on his leg.

Ronald Tilousi, who is staying with Mr. and Mrs. O'Donnell of Peach Springs, looks good. He is growing fast and is getting lots of good food and care. He is taking piano lessons from his teacher.

The Store Manager, Lloyd Hanna, sent some men up to Hilltop Monday to get the store groceries. Everybody is happy to get flour, eggs, bread, bacon, etc. again. The last load came in this afternoon.

Lina Iditicava made herself a pretty red dress last week. She has a sewing machine.

Roy Sinyella plowed for Fred Hamidereek last week. He has lots of plowing to do in the next few weeks.

Reed Watahomigie went out Saturday morning to Peach Springs and came home yesterday with the mail.

Mr. C. is going to plant some tomato trees; yes, trees. We should all have plenty of fresh tomatoes this summer and next winter.

Mr. Perry, Extension Agent, plans to be here on March 7th to do some pruning and grafting. He hopes to have the fruit trees and plants by then.

Vera Marshall came down with the mail last Friday to visit her relatives. Her little boy, Mason, was very happy to have her home.

Mr. and Mrs. Barnard and family are still living near Dyer, Nevada. They wrote a letter last week and said hello to all the folks down here. They left here in Nov. 1951. They have a big ranch in Nevada.

Bela Wescogame has made lots of quirts to sell to the tourists this Spring. They are real nice ones.

6 year old Glenn Paya took a sweat bath this afternoon. Miss Lorena Marshall has been playing the guitar this afternoon.

Jennie Grounds wrote from the Theodore Roosevelt School at Ft. Apache and said to tell everybody hello down here. She said all of the children there were doing fine.

Mark Hanna has been busy cleaning and raking up his alfalfa field. He says his alfalfa is up a few inches now. He has a bad cold today and can't work much.
