Yesterday came on at Guildhall, before the Right Hon. the Lord Chief Justice Pratt, an action, brought by Mr Beardmore; against the King's Messengers, for entering his house. and inspecting into his and his Clients books and papers; when Mr. Attorney General. having observed that another action was depending which Mr. Beardmore. had brought for false imprisonment, against the said messengers. jointly with the Right Hon. the Earl of Halifax, under the same warrant. it was proposed that both actions might be consolidated, and tried upon one record; and which Mr. Beardmore. and his council. immediately expressed great desire to unite both actions. and the court recommending it to have the Earl of Halifax joined as a party. that the whole merits against all parties charged or concerned might be tried in one action Mr. Attorney General promised to recommend the case, and there upon his Lordship appointed to try the cause on Friday the 24th day of May next.
