Manager Worley has received a letter from Manager Kindt of Davenport, telling him that "The Newlyweds," the attraction at the Grand for this evening, is a first class show. It is a big musical attraction and one of the funniest on the road. A number of Keokuk people have had the satisfaction of seeing the show in other cities and they say it is one of the best. So don't stay away from the Grand opera house tonight. You will regret it. The play, so the author says, is about 75 per cent girls. The chorus and the soloists and comedians are all A 1. Mr. Kindt says the performance at Davenport gave entire satisfaction.
"The Newlyweds and Their Baby."
That mischievous two-toothed infant, Napoleon, whose pranks have caused waves of laughter to upset the sedate will play his first engagement at the Grand opera house this evening in the big music show founded on George McManus' famous cartoons of like name. He is the mirth star. James F. Rosen, the diminutive comedian, has the role of the Newlywed offspring, while fond papa and mamma are portrayed by Leo Hayes and Countess Olga von Hatzfeldt. There is an abundance of catchy music, pretty girls and specialties. Last but not least is George P. Murphy, the waiter who is a screamingly funny German comedian.
