The democratic caucus to elect delegates to the county convention today at Montpelier was held last evening in the city court room and was well attended. G. H. Pape was elected chairman and Dr. J. W. Jackson secretary. Resolutions were adopted pledging the delegates to support no candidate for county offices who was not either for McGettrick or Clement, and also declaring in favor of a fusion ticket with the Local Option men. The delegates elected were: C. W. Melcher, J. R. Tierney, G. H. Pape, J. F. Higgins, M. J. M. Gowan, C. B. Gladding, S. H. Forsyth, Henry Frenier, D. W. McDonald, Dr. J. W. Jackson, O. D. Shurtleff, H. A. Duffy, G. T. Swasey, Charles Larkin and S. J. Kingston. The delegates were allowed to choose their own alternates.
