AMONG OUR EXCHANGES
Their Notions and Ours.

These men pray for temperance, but vote with the devil for rum, and there is no worse woe pronounced upon taking the name of God in vain than upon putting the bottle to their neighbor's lips.--State Tribune.

And we greatly fear some of these may be overtaken with judgment as was he that said, "am I my brother's keeper."

Some of the temperance fanatics are kicking like mules because we advertise the business of saloon keepers in the Call. Probably if some of the aforesaid fanatics were to pay up their debts as well as saloon men, other people would be happy.--Call.

'Tis true enough that many poor victims of saloons are bankrupt in this world's goods and their suffering families are not able to pay their debts, while the saloon men whom you delight to honor, revel in plenty and pay bills promptly; but the time is coming when without a change the latter will become bankrupt, and the place of final settlement will be a hot place for you to go to collect your bills, we fear.

Bro Peterson, of the Huntington Republican, seems to be pretty solid with Bro. Johnson now on the prohibition question, but we should like to know how it was at the Weston Editorial Convention? Perhaps Bro. Johnson can tell us.-- Wetzel Democrat.

Always ready for new converts, Bro. Mack. We'll gladly take the Democrat in on probation, at any time.

Col. Dan Johnson will be at the polls next Tuesday and will work for Good in spite of "renegade Ike." -- Wetzel Democrat.

And s'pose he did: how does the above "illigant" diction bear on the main issue?

The candidates are beginning to stir in this county.--Wayne Advocate.

They stirred a heap hereabouts and lots o' froth and nastiness was the result.
