From the London Morning Herald of the 26th

We understand that the departure of Mr. Van Buren, the North American Minister, is fixed for Saturday next, when he will proceed to Portsmouth for the purpose of embarking for the United States, having been recalled by his Government. Mr. Van Buren had just taken possession of a mansion in Stratford place, and fitted it up for the embassy, when information reached him that the Legislative Assembly of the United States had refused to ratify his appointment in the room of Mr. M'Lane, by a majority of only one vote; and he accordingly proceeded to make final arrangements for quitting the country. His Excellency had an audience of his Majesty on Thursday, to take leave.
