Bank Employee Confesses Mail Robberies

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Tommie Thomas, an employee of a Local Bank confessed to charges of stealing money from mail addressed to the bank in a preliminary hearing here last week.

Thomas was arrested by Postal Inspectors after they had mailed a number of letters to the bank containing marked money and one of the letters disappeared and Thomas was found with part of the money in his possession.

Admitting that he had taken money mailed to the bank over a long period Thomas estimated that he had stolen about $400 before being caught.
