With the hunting season only three weeks off, sportsmen are beginning to take their guns off the shelf for a cleaning and oiling preparatory to answering the first call, when the game laws are lifted September 10th. To get a license it is necessary for the applicant to give his name, age, weight, color of hair and eyes and the length of residence in the county. A resident license costs $1.00, a non-resident $15 00. Although several laws were made regulating the game reserve nothing that affects this section was enacted and the same laws as last year will again govern the coming season. The season on grouse, prairie chickens and partridge opens September 10th and closes October 9th. The duck and geese season opens the same date and closes November 30. Several licenses have already been issued to hunters by the county treasurer. Also two non-resident licenses for fishing.
