Thirty-five Imperial high school youngsters, some big, some small, turned out for the first football practice this week under Albert Klein, new coach, appointed to succeed Sheldon Loughborough, Brawley mentor.
From the 35 candidates, school officials will tell you, Klein will develop the strongest team Imperial has seen since 1915. The 1939 squad will be better than last year's squad, far better than the 1937 team.
Fourteen of the candidates who answered the first call have seen considerable action in the past two years. Most likely to be standouts are: Captain Bob Wilson, "Crash" Brackenbury, Sylvester Nanomantube, and S. Nakazona.
