TERRORISTS OPEN FIRE WITH BOMBS CHICAGO OFFICIALS

PORTION OF RESIDENCE TORN AWAY CITY COMPTROLLER FORMER CHIEF

CHICAGO Jan. 26. (AP)--Terrorists opened fire on the city administration with dynamite bombs exploding them almost simultaneously at the homes of two of Mayor Thompson's close political aides.

One bomb, carrying an unusually large amount of dynamite tore away a portion of the residence of Chas. C. Fitzmorris, city comptroller and former chief of police. The other smashed windows in the home of Dr. William H. Reid, commissioner of the public health service, during the early Thompson administration

The bombs were tossed from a closed car at the Fitzmorris home. The bomb shattered the front door and wrecked the lower portion of the house. Windows, as far as six blocks away, were broken.
