Wives Of Would-Be Assassins Released

NEW YORK--Mrs. Carmen Torresola, 21-year-old widow of the gunman who was slain in an attempt to assassinate President Truman, was released Wednesday after 51 days in jail, and conspiracy charges against her were dropped for lack of supporting evidence. U. S. Commissioner Edward McDonald also released Mrs. Rosa Collazo, 42, whose husband, Oscar, is awaiting trial in Washington on charges of slaying a Blair House guard, who aided in preventing the assassination.

Three others implicated in the case are still facing conspiracy charges.
