The Fruit Crop.—The prospect for fruit the coming season, is not encouraging in many sections of the Northern States. In New Jersey, the largest peach growing State, an almost entire failure is anticipated. In New York like apprehensions prevail. In Southern Illinois nothing like an average crop will be obtained. In Michigan, a fair average crop of peaches and apples is expected. The buds on all the well-matured wood are still healthy, and the fruit is destroyed only on the immature wood, that could not withstand the rigors of the past winter.
