VALDOSTA, Ga., Mar. 4. What has been considered as being the greatest Quarterly conference ever held in connection with Trinity A. M. E. church closed here last Sunday night. The business session held Friday night, presided over by the popular presiding elder of the Valdosta District South Georgia conference, The Rev. J. D. Glass, D.D. Reports were submitted from 18 departments of the church and the 10 class leaders. All of the reports were excellent and exceeding the fondest expectation of both the presiding elder and the pastor.
The presiding Elder preached both morning and evening and apparently was at his best at both services. The attendance was good and the spiritual tide ran high. One splendid young man was added to the church membership at the morning services.
The Presiding Elder expressed his gratification at the splendid way in which the pastor has gone about organizing the work for the church.
Many visitors were present at the four services Sunday. Meeting closed in the midst of a blaze of glory Sunday night at which time the Stewards announced that they would be able to pay the Quarterly Conference claims in full. Rev. H. Vernon Greene is pastoring St. Timothy this conference year and has his forces already organized for an offensive war against the church debt.
