We learn by private and reliable advice, that the clipper brig Hanover, lately built at Williamsburg, and which an ineffectual effort was made to detain on charge of being about to engage as a slaver, was at Cardenas on the 4th inst., ready to sail for the coast of Africa, with a crew of about 190 men, and a large supply of muskets and ammunition. Twenty five of the men had come armed in the vessel from Havana. There was no secrecy exhibited either in her appointments or the object of those commanding her. The person who has provided the stores is Don Andres Cortina, a trader of Cardenas. The owner is M. Zulueta, a well known slave dealer, a native of Spain, protected by Gen. Concha, who receives as Governor General $51 on each imported slave, and so has a direct interest in the business.
