Letters from Constantinople, by Way of Venice, say, that the Bailo of that Republick is in high Favour at the Porte; that the Grand Seignior has given him the strongest Assurances that he will, upon all Occasions, give Proofs of his constant Friendship for the Republick. Those Letters add, that the Infidels go on briskly with their warlike Preparations, which are much greater than those of the two last Campaigns; and that the Grand Vizir takes but little Notice of the Propositions of Peace hitherto made to him.
