Full Text

The meeting of the Business Men's Association, next Wednesday evening, in Odd Fellows' Hall, is sure to prove one of the most important to enlighten our citizens as to the wonderful things being done at the Great West—from California to the East—to adorn and beautify the cities lying between those two points, and as to object lessons to stir up public spirit. Rev. F. D. Sargent, who spent the winter in California, will deliver an address on "How They Do Things Out West," with pictures illustrating what he describes. The lecture will show the push and pride of the Westerners, and the pride they take in their cities, regardless of public expense. And yet they find it pays in the end. In Western cities there is no room for "knockers." Settlers from the East soon imbibe the environing spirit and it arouses pleasurable feelings that inspires them with new joys, and gives them daring courage to make their home city ideal. The lecture while given at the annual meeting of the Business Men's Association, is open to all, freely. No one that can, should fail to avail themselves of this assured instructive and interesting lecture that Mr. Sargent has carefully prepared for our citizens.
