University Accommodation.
The number of students at the University is so large that all of the desirable dormitories and boarding houses have long since been filled to their utmost capacity. We learn that many young men who came on to matriculate have gone to other Institutions because they could not procure suitable accommodations. This state of affairs ought not to exist for a single day, if the Visitors can remedy the evil. "Dormitories and boarding houses should be erected every vacation until the supply is commensurate with the annually increasing prosperity of the University. It is highly impolitic to permit a young man who wishes to enter the University to leave for want of suitable accommodations. Every such young man will become the alumnus of some other College, and from an attachment to his Alma Mater will in proportion to the extent of his influence advance her interests and prosperity, thus virtually losing a friend to the University. We believe that some twenty or thirty young men of this character have left the University this session.--Charlottesville Advocate.
