Word comes from San Diego, through personal advices and through letters, that B. A. Sleyster, the real estate and insurance agent of this city, who is sojourning these days at San Diego, has simply electrified the wharf dogs of that city by his angling capabilities, and is now known among them as the most successful angler of the season on the San Diego and Coronado beach. A few days ago, with a party of old tars who were never known to quit, Sleyster took a spin around San Diego bay in a steam launch, and within an hour had pulled out, with hook and line, enough barracudas, yellowtails and mackerels to supply the markets of San Diego with fish for a week. When the launch returned to the city and was moored within sight of the ferry boat landing, it presented one of the most interesting spectacles imaginable. There were huge packs of squirming fish of the above named varieties, and Sleyster was right in the midst of them. He was the hero of the hour, and fish vendors flocked around him like flies around a sorghum barrel.
Mr. Sleyster writes back, that besides fishing, he is otherwise enjoying himself, taking ocean baths and swimming across the bay from San Diego to Coronado. He met Miss Nellie Brewer, Charles White, Fred Nichols and other Albuquerqueans at San Diego.
