Thursday last Capt. Lindley arrived here in 30 Days from Barbadoes, by whom we are informed, That on the 22d of August last they had a violent Hurricane there, in which the following Vessels were totally lost, viz. The Franklin Privateer, and 3 Sloops laden with Provisions, just arriv'd belonging to Barbadoes; Capt. Elmore in a Brig belonging to Bristol, With 40 Hhds. of Sugar on board; Capt. Bartlett in a Brig belonging to Piscataqua; Capt. Bolton in a Brig, laden with Provisions, from North Carolina; and two other Vessels, the Names of which are forgot. 'Twas reported at Barbadoes before Capt. Lindley sailed, that they had received considerable Damage by the above Hurricane at Martinico, the Particulars of which he did not hear, but 'twas said a Frigate with all her Crew were lost.
