Hon. Nelson Dingley Confers With Franklin County Republican Leaders.
Farmington, Me., Sept. 6.—Hon. Nelson Dingley, at a conference of the Republican leaders of Franklin county, held here, this afternoon, impressed upon the gathering the importance of a full Republican vote this fall as a forerunner of a victory in 1900. Mr. Dingley paid the highest tribute to President McKinley for his wise and energetic rule during the past year and especially so during the crisis and war with Spain.
In the evening Mr. Dingley attended the peace jubilee and reception which the patriotic citizens of Farmington, held in Music hall in honor of Lieut. Winthrop S. Wood, 9th U. S. Cavalry, who fought in the battle of Santiago.
