CONTEST FOR CAB NAME IS NOW ON

With three days' return in the 'Find a Name for Emmett Thompson's Cab' contest, finally checked over and the suggestions properly graded out the contest judges are beginning to feel like an All-American Football team selection board- too many good entries and not enough winning places. But the judges are prepared to do their best and now it is up to the people of Juneau to find a really good name for Thompson's fleet of fine new taxis. Not a hard job-but one that will pay off with a free ride over the Glaciers in the new Irving Airways Lockheed plane for the winner and a friend.

Despite all admonitions and remonstrances that he is ineligible to enter the contest, Paul Brown, of The Empire staff, insists on submitting the old CCC moniker "Crooner Cab Company" and contends that he thinks that name is not only apt, but tops, and will continue to vote for it at least five times a day up if Zionehcck is made a Dean at Wellesley.
