We learn from Brookfield, that on the 15th Inst. at Night, on the Road between that place & South Hadley, Mr. Charles Wood, a person well respected in that neighbourhood, was stopped by three Men, who beat and abused him in a most shocking manner, wounded him with a Sword, and after having robbed him of 80 Dollars of Cash, and a Quantity of Leather, the inhuman Ruffians left him tied to a Tree, some distance from the Road. His Cries brought to his assistance some People travelling that Way, who conducted him to a House, but his Life was despaired of. One Hundred and Fifty Dollars are offered for discovering and apprehending the Perpetrators of this horrid piece of barbarity.
