Claim Klan is After Jobs Held by Race

That the Atlanta chapter of the Ku Klux Klan has taken up the futile fight of the insidious Black Shirts' organization to replace all Negroes with white workers was revealed today in information gained from grapevine sources.

Agents, allegedly from the local K. K. K., Monday called on the management of a leading Atlanta wholesale grocer and it is said gave him three days to 'fire all your niggers and hire white people.'

The manager of the concern, according to what was told a prominent Negro customer, told the representatives that he would close up his business before he would fire his Negro employees, some of whom have been with him since he went in business.

An appeal was made to the police department for protection it was learned, and special plainclothes officers remain on duty and ride with the company's trucks in anticipation of violence.
