Pfc. Cook With Anti-Aircraft Warning Battalion

COLUMBUS, Ga.-(SNS)
WITH U. S. ARMY FORCES IN THE SOUTH PACIFIC-Pfc. King D. Cook, son of Mrs. Lizzie Taylor, of 660 Williams Street, Columbus, Ga, is now serving with an antiaircraft Air Warning Battalion.

Pfc. Cook is a member of the organization intelligence section and his duties include the supervision of a group of aircraft spotters. Since coming overseas in August 1942, he has performed many other duties in the unit.

Pfc. Cook attended Spencer High School of Columbus, Ga. and while there was a member of the basketball team. He entered the army in Feb '41 and received his basic training at Fort Bragg, N. C. At the completion of his training he was assigned to his present organization, then stationed there. At the outbreak of the war, he moved with his organization to Philadelphia, Pa, and later to Burbank, California for duty.

Technician Fifth Grade Man Banks and Pfc. Tallie Johnson, also of Columbus are serving with the same outfit. The three men are veterans of over two years of overseas service in the South Pacific, and often meet to discuss old times.
