Full Text
Yesterday's fire made the 36th alarm that the fire department has responded to since last March. It is certainly a creditable record that shows the loss of property to have been so small during that period. The department is now well organized and equipped, and in a good state of efficiency. There are no narrow jealousies or petty animosities among its members: but, on the contrary, the utmost good feeling exists. For the service of the city it is to be hoped that this cordial feeling of good-fellowship may always be cultivated among the members of the various companies.
