Constable L. R. Bailey arrested one Richard Toy at Don Luis yesterday evening about six o'clock. The charge against the man was that he had deliberately skipped out of Lowell about a month ago without going through the formality of paying his landlady, Mrs. H. Mayes, a balance of $6 due on his board. Now it seems that the Boranza lodging house, in common with most other establishments of the kind, is not conducted upon a charity basis. Mrs. Mayes had accordingly made an immediate effort to find her delinquent boarder with a view to making him cough up. But Toy's disappearance was a complete one until yesterday, when the constable happened to run across him at the little suburb of Don Luis. Toy, when arraigned before Justice Murphy, pleaded guilty, and avowed that congenital absent mindedness was all that he had to offer in the way of extenuation. He seemed glad to pay the amount of his obligation, together with the costs of the case.
