Full Text

Our old Democratic friend, Dr. Geo. B. Graff, formerly of Gibson county, and recently appointed as Receiver at the Land Office at Dacotah, Nebraska Territory, has become sole proprietor and editor of the Dacotah Herald. The paper advocates Jo Lane's pretensions to the Presidency. The Doctor arrived at his old home last week, and received a cordial welcome from his former neighbors. He proceeds to Washington on business connected with the Indian affairs of Dacotah. He thinks Nebraska the finest country in all the world. The Doctor is for bringing the Territory into the Union as a State before the next Presidential election, in order to give the Charleston nominee three or four additional votes. The people of the Territory, he says, will call a convention the approaching winter to form a State Constitution, which will be presented to Congress before the termination of the next session, and admission as a State demanded.
