DOYLE PRESS DISMISSES $200,000 LAWSUIT IN COMMON PLEAS COURT
Suit For Libel Against Madison Press Is Dropped

The lawsuit brought by Doyle Press, Inc. West Jefferson printing firm, against the Madison Press Company, London, publishers of several Madison county newspapers, has been dismissed.

A representative of the law firm of Coolidge, Becker, Wall and Wood of Dayton, and representing Doyle Press, entered the motion in Common Pleas court here Tuesday morning, July 15.

The Dayton law firm, entered a motion that the $200,000 lawsuit against Madison Press be "dismissed with prejudice and without record, at plaintiff's cost". Judge James F. Bell approved the motion.

It was explained that the motion meant that no subsequent lawsuit could be brought against Madison Press upon the same set of facts as those set down in the original suit. Clarence J. Doyle, president of the Doyle Press, had signed the original affidavit charging that Madison Press did "cause to be published certain false and libelous matter."

Through its attorneys, Frank J. Murray and S. E. Robison, Madison Press last week filed a demurrer to the plaintiff's petition on the grounds that the petition failed to state a cause of action.

The dismissal of the lawsuit concludes the entire matter.
