BOUNTIFUL HARVESTS
The Grape, Fruit and Grape Crops the
Largest for Many Years

Telegraphic dispatches received by the
Record-Union last night from all sections
of the State regarding crop prospects are
extremely flattering. They show that the
grain, fruit and grape crops will be the
largest for many years in all the counties,
with a few minor exceptions. The late
heavy rains prove to have been rather of a
beneficial than of a detrimental character,
particularly as they were followed by most
favorable weather for the proper develop-
ment of all classes of crops.

Some hay that was cut prior to the rain
was damaged and some early sown grain
lodged, but most of it will be saved at a
little extra expense. Rust has appeared in
a few localities, but no extensive damage
will result from its presence.

These dispatches also state that the apri-
cot and peach orchards are not so heavily
laden, but what is lost in quantity will
be more than made up in size and quality.
The indications are that the vintage will
be the largest ever known and of the finest
quality.
