FOUNDERS DAY OF THE WEST" PROVES DAY OF ACCIDENTS

SANTA MONICA, Calif., June 22. (AP)--Four persons were shot and wounded during a pageant. "Founders' Day of the West." A deputy sheriff aimed at giving authentic Westerners and others a true idea of old times in pioneer days, and to add to the noise of the celebration, discharged his pistol at the sidewalk and the bullets ricocheted.

The parade was delayed while firemen, much to the amusement of the crowd, which thought it part of the program, endeavored reach a fire. As a climax to a day of accidents a cowboy's horse leaped among an orchestra and wrecked noise making devices.
